Omer Refa Koseoglu
Dr. Omer Koseoglu is the Chief Technology Officer at Technology Innovation Farms LLC, a start‑up focused on refining, petrochemicals, sustainability, and artificial intelligence projects. He brings over 40 years of experience in the refining industry with deep expertise in catalyst and process development, plastic conversion, hydrogen production (green/gray/blue/cyan), crude oil evaluation and valuation, model development and commercial unit monitoring, pilot‑plant experiment design and data analysis, and web‑based software development.
His career includes roles at Shell Canada Research Centre (Oakville), HRI/IFP North America (now Axens) in Princeton, NJ, Conoco’s Technology Development Center in Ponca City, OK, and a senior research position as Principal Scientist at Saudi Aramco R&D Center beginning in 2001. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto (1988) and has been a key research scientist in the development and deployment of CAN‑HC hydrocracking catalysts, leading technology transfer, pilot programs, and scale‑up efforts.
Dr. Koseoglu is a prolific inventor and author: he has been granted 407 US patents and has filed roughly 160 additional patent applications with the USPTO, alongside numerous scientific publications. A licensed professional engineer, he combines hands‑on pilot and commercial experience with strategic R&D leadership to translate laboratory innovations into deployable technologies that address both conventional refining challenges and sustainability goals.
